The Alabaster

Crystal Stone, the only Crystalline Alabaster in the world, owns its creation thousands of years ago and it’s therefore destined to last forever. The origin of this spectacular sparkling chain, Crystal
Stone, dates back to about 6 million years ago, when the Mediterranean Sea was isolated from the Atlantic Ocean due to the rise of the seabed near the Strait of Gibraltar. Intense evaporation, followed by the natural sedimentation process, contributed to the formation of Crystalline Alabaster, a Stone with incomparable properties. Located in Italy near the Medieval Castle of Montebello, Crystal Stone is the only quarry in the world in terms of compactness and purity of crystals. The name Crystal Stone originates from its macro-crystalline structure which has a unique texture that shows the unmistakable grey color with pearly and brilliant characteristics. The Crystal Stone Alabaster is extracted from the quarry in blocks and cut into highly compact slabs.
The creation of panels is achieved thanks to the work of skilled master craftsmen, ensuring the quality and transparency of Made in Italy. Due to the conformation of the Crystal Stone Alabaster, unique for its properties, over the years a special glass lamination process has been developed, in order to enhance the brilliance and transparency of its crystals. By means of new technologies, panels are used by our craftsmen to cover interior environments. Moreover, thanks to the presence of macro-crystals, it is possible to illuminate the panel back to enhance its transparency. The application of natural dyes by the hand of our skilled artisans allows a narrow range of color choice, highlighting the natural brilliance of the crystals.

BACKLIT PANELS

The translucent properties of Crystal Stone are enhanced thanks to the thickness of 20mm.
The extra-light 5 mm-thick glass allows the realization of panels of medium size.

SOLUTION FOR BIG-SIZE
BACKLIT PANELS

The installation of large Crystal Stone panels is allowed thanks to the increased glass thickness into 8 mm. This permits a greater resistance and transparency of the stone, due to the reduced thickness of it, the light passes through more easily through the crystals.

NOT-TRANSLUCENT PANELS

Panels with thickness of 30mm do not allow the light to pass through crystals, therefore they appear full and of remarkable beauty and elegance. When the thickness reaches 30mm the crystal is exalted in its brilliance. This solution is suitable when the supporting structure of the wall where Crystal Stone will be installed is settled to the specific weight of the stone. Crystal Stone design studio evaluates each individual project on a case-by-case basis in order to create the right panel for each ambience.

Sometime the supporting wall requires a reduced weight of the panels to be installed.
Thanks to the use of advanced technologies and materials, there is the possibility to reduce the weight of the stone.
Aluminum honeycomb panels are the best answer when resistance and lightness are required at the same time.
